Secret Depths is a major Main Quest that takes you deep into the Temple of the Roots, where you’ll uncover ancient secrets about the connection between Humans and Galdurs. This quest will take some time to complete as they have to navigate through the multiple temple areas and rooms to locate a Galdur hidden within the temple.  After exploring Kilima Village and Bahari Bay, you’ve discovered long-lost overseer stations, overridden the lockdown protocol, and opened the door to an ancient secret. I have shown the full steps to solve the sliding puzzle as well. So, let’s jump in! Requirements to Get the Quest The Palia Secret Depths Quest can be unlocked by completing quests “Keeper of Waves,” “Keeper of Gales,” and “Keeper of Flames.” And to get these three quests, you must finish the quest called Temple of the Gales. Once you have done this, you are good to go! Required Previous Quests: Where is This Quest Located? The quest Secret Depths is available in the Temple of the Roots, which is in the Bahari Bauy. More specifically, it is in the Northeast of the Flooded Steps. Look for D3 on your map. Enter the Temple of the Roots located southeast of Outskirts. The temple entrance will be accessible once you’ve completed all prerequisite quests and overridden the lockdown protocols. How to Solve the Quest Secret Depths in Palia Meet Einar and Hekla Meet Einar and Hekla there to begin your adventure. Once Palians have completed the four Keeper quests, Einar will give them the subsequent quest as he and Hekla await them for the Secret Depths quest. They’ll be waiting at the temple entrance, ready to explore the ancient facility. Enter the Temple Talk to Hekla inside the Temple of Roots. Once inside the temple, you’ll need to speak with Hekla to begin the exploration process. The temple contains multiple chambers and ancient technology that you’ll need to navigate. Navigate Through Temple Areas The hallway you pass through has another reading tablet. It will tell you more about the Gardener. As you progress through the temple, make sure to read the stone tablets and interact with automatons to learn more about the temple’s history and the mysterious Gardener entity. Access The Factory Go inside the Factory Entrance and walk towards the back, where you will find a series of floating platforms. You will see a locked door and two glowing buttons. You must use the platforms to reach these buttons and press them to unlock the door. They’ll have to progress through the temple by entering The Factory to find another Flowgate to activate and locate The Gardener’s core. Reach The Gardener’s Core You’ve reached the Gardener’s core – now you just need to bring Einar and Hekla here. Activate the Flow Gate in the room so that they can step through it. Once you’ve navigated through all the temple’s challenges, you’ll reach the central core where the Gardener entity resides. Confront The Gardener You and Hekla must convince The Gardener to return Einar to normal. You will plead for his case, but he will eventually listen to Hekla after she shows him data from her relationship with Jina and your friendship with Einar. This culminates in an important story moment that reveals crucial information about the relationship between humans and Galdurs. Solve the Sliding Puzzle The Gladur sliding puzzle is the hardest to complete, but it is necessary to unlock the final vault in Palia. The temple contains a complex mural puzzle that requires careful manipulation of sliding tiles to reveal the complete image and progress further into the temple. Here are the full steps you can follow to solve the sliding puzzle: FAQs Can I complete Secret Depths solo, or do I need other players? This quest can only be completed with the help of the relevant NPCs, which means technically you are doing it solo. No other human player can help you in solving this quest.  How long does the Secret Depths quest take to complete? If you are good at solving puzzles and exploring secret temples, then it won’t take long. But if you find solving puzzles hard and are not experienced when it comes to exploration, then you can expect it to take around an hour or maybe more.  What’s the exact solution to the sliding tile puzzle? Here is the exact sequence of steps you can follow to solve the sliding puzzle: Up, Up, Right, Right, Down, Left, Left, Down, Down, Right, Up, Left, Up, Right, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Down, Left. Execute these moves in the exact order to solve the puzzle. Are there valuable rewards for exploring thoroughly? Yes, the Temple of the Roots contains multiple Ancient Chests hidden throughout various rooms. These chests contain rare materials and valuable items, making thorough exploration worthwhile. What happens after completing the Secret Depths quest? Completing this quest opens another Bundle at Night Sky Temple in Kilima Bay and marks the end of the current storyline. You’ll need to work with The Order for future story progression when new updates are released. Final Thoughts Secret Depths represents one of Palia’s most story-intensive quests, combining challenging puzzles with significant lore revelations about the ancient world. Prove Your Generosity is a Main Quest given by Eshe as part of the Majiri virtues trial series. In order to become a member of the community, you have to prove yourself in the Majiri virtues by fulfilling weekly wants for villagers. Another thing you have to do is fill item requests for players to prove you embody the Palian virtue of generosity.  This quest demonstrates your commitment to helping others and building community relationships in Kilima Village. Requirements for the Quest Prove Your Generosity will automatically be available to you once you have finished the quest Strong Foundations.  Make sure that you have made good progress in the initial phase of the main story so that you will have an established presence in the community. And so Eshe will offer you this quest.  Required Previous Quest: How to Complete Prove Your Generosity Quest in Palia The quest is based on two different tasks that you must complete in order to finish the quest. Since I have put in my effort, I know everything about this quest. So, here I’m sharing full steps: Task 1: Completing Villager Weekly Wants To discover the villagers’ weekly wants, ask around! You need to talk to various villagers throughout Kilima Village and Bahari Bay to learn what items they’re currently seeking. You can start off with Villager requests by finding any five Villagers and hitting F to chat with them. After some dialogue has been shared, there’ll be two or three icons left in the dialogue box. Look for specific icons that indicate they have weekly wants or gift preferences. When you talk to villagers, they’ll mention specific items they’re looking for during that week. These requests reset weekly and can include various crafted items, foraged materials, or cooked dishes. Bring the requested items back to the villager to fulfill their weekly want and count toward your generosity quest progress. Task 2: Completing Player Requests To fulfill a player’s request in Palia, you have to gift the items that other players are asking for. To do so, press the O button (PC) to open the Social Panel. This will show you a list of active player requests from the community. Completing the player request is arguably the hardest part of this quest since not many players are requesting items on the market. Player requests depend on what other players are actively seeking, so availability can vary significantly. Rewards During the quest, you will receive 5 Renowns. And once the quest is finished, you will get 15 Renowns and increased friendship with Eshe. This will make your future friendship much stronger in the game.  Also, once the quest is finished, you will be able to make progress in the main storyline. A new quest, “Find Your Shepp” will become available. FAQs Do I need to fulfill requests from specific villagers or players? No, any five villagers’ weekly wants and any five players’ requests will count toward the quest completion. You have flexibility in choosing which requests to fulfill. Can I fulfill multiple requests for the same villager? Each villager typically only has one weekly want active at a time, but you can fulfill requests from the same player multiple times if they make different requests. What happens if a player’s request expires while I’m gathering items? Unfortunately, expired requests don’t count toward your quest progress. You’ll need to find new active requests to fulfill. Do higher-value items count more toward the quest? No, each fulfilled request counts as one toward your goal, regardless of the item’s value or rarity. A simple Clay request counts the same as a rare crafted item. Final Thoughts Prove Your Generosity serves as both a practical introduction to Palia’s community systems and a meaningful step toward citizenship. While the player request component can be challenging due to timing and availability, the quest ultimately teaches valuable lessons about community engagement and resource sharing.  Take your time, stay patient with player request availability, and enjoy building relationships with villagers as you demonstrate the Majiri virtue of generosity.

Like a Bird is a Main Quest given by Jina upon completion of Ancient Battery, and it’s your pathway to obtaining the essential glider tool in Palia. This quest allows you to fly like the grand eagle and soar the skies with your trusted glider, which can be acquired during the Like A Bird quest with Najuma in Palia. Requirements to Unlock the Quest To unlock the Like A Bird quest to get your Glider, you’ll first need to complete several of the main quests, especially the previous quest in the chain, The Ancient Battery. As you explore the ruins during the quest, you’ll come across a chasm you cannot fully cross. This creates the narrative need for a glider, setting up the next quest in the chain. You should also have completed the following quests. How to Complete Like a Bird Quest in Palia The quest involves several steps that you must go through in order to complete the quest. I have explained everything here: Getting the Quest from Najuma Once you have completed the Ancient Battery quest, Jina will assign you the quest Like a Bird. She will give you the tips and some explanation regarding the quest, such as you will have to cross large gaps. Also, she will suggest that you get help from someone relevant.  The quest takes you to Bahari Bay, where you have to find a girl named Najuma. Bahari Bay is located in the east of Kilima Village. Once you are there, find Najuma near her workshop, which is located in the central area of Bahari Bay.  Now, all you have to do is speak to her and explain the situation. She will agree and ask you to bring her all the required materials for the production of the Glider. When the quest is active, you can ask her to make a glider, and she will only need the relevant materials.  Gather Required Materials For the glider making, you will need to get the following materials: Sapwood Planks, Fabric, and Leather. Here’s how you can get each one of these: Sapwood Planks: Sapwood can be obtained by cutting down trees on your housing plot or in Kilima Village. Simply chop the trees and then transform them into planks.  Fabric: To get the Fabric, you will need to process the Cotton or other Fiber materials at a Loom. Now, you can obtain it from your own crops, or it can also be purchased from a shop. Leather: Obtaining the Leather requires using the hide of an animal called Sernuk. You will need to hunt down Sernuk, which can be found in multiple areas of both Kilima Village and Bahari Bay. Once you have got the hide, you can use it on a Tanning Rack to obtain the Leather. Return to Najuma After you have collected all the materials, it’s time to get back to Najuma. Head to her workshop and give her all the material, and she will quickly make a glider for you.  How to Use Your New Glider Equipment and Controls When you have newly obtained the glider, you must equip it in the accessories slot of the Player Menu. Now, whenever you fall from any space, just hit the jump button to activate the glider. Make sure the glider is equipped before you try to make a flight. Otherwise, you will simply fall on the ground.  How to Glide After equipping the glider in the accessories section, you can jump from any position and press the jump button again to bring out the glider. This way, the glider will automatically be equipped whenever you jump from the minimum height. With the glider equipped, it will be a lot easier for you to cover major gaps with ease.  Rewards Here’s what you will get after finishing the quest: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Can I get multiple gliders or upgrade my glider? No, you can only get one glide from this quest, and you can customize it later through the available options. And there are actually no upgrades for it; the functionality remains the same throughout the entire game.  What happens if I accidentally sell or lose my glider? You cannot sell or lose the Glider as it is a permanent item once you have obtained it. Although if you feel like you have lost it, you may check your inventory again or restart the game to remove any possible temporary bug.  Do I need to repair or maintain my glider? No, there is no requirement to repair your glider. It has an unlimited durability, which means it will never receive any sort of damage. Once you have obtained it, you can use it as much as you want without ever worrying about getting it damaged.  Can I use the glider indoors or in caves? The glider only works in outdoor areas where there is enough space. It cannot be used in caves or any other indoor spaces.  How high do I need to be to use the glider effectively? You need to be falling from a reasonable height for the glider to deploy properly. Small jumps or drops won’t activate it – you need to jump from cliffs, buildings, or other elevated positions. Final Thoughts The “Like a Bird” quest is one of Palia’s most impactful upgrades, transforming exploration and travel throughout the game. While gathering materials takes some effort, the glider’s freedom of movement makes it absolutely worthwhile. Remember to speak with Jina immediately after completing Ancient Battery to avoid progression bugs, and take time to enjoy your first flight – the aerial views and newfound accessibility make this a truly memorable gaming milestone.

The “Find Your Shepp” quest is a main story quest given by Eshe. It requires you to choose a mentor (Shepp) to officially sponsor your integration into Kilima Village’s Majiri community. This is essentially your citizenship quest. You would have definitely completed many other quests like Silver Winging It, and they were somewhat a bit difficult. But this one is just the easiest one. I’ve explained everything in detail below.  Requirements for the Quest Before receiving the “Find Your Shepp” quest, you must complete three prerequisite quests for Eshe: Required Previous Quests: After completing all three Majiri virtue quests, Eshe will give you the “Find Your Shepp” quest. To complete this quest, you need to reach Level 4 Friendship with any adult villager and complete their Level 4 personal quest. Once both requirements are met, you can ask them to be your Shepp using the dialogue option “Will you be my Shepp?” The villager will accept your request if you’ve fulfilled all the friendship and quest prerequisites. Who Can Be Your Shepp? There are plenty of villagers out there to choose from. I have listed all the eligible ones here: How to Complete Find Your Shepp Quest This is truly a fun and super-easy quest in Palia. All you need to do is choose an eligible villager and then build a friendship with them. Reach Level 4 and ask them to be your Shepp. That’s it! Build Friendship Through Daily Activities & Personal Quests: Building friendship requires consistent daily interaction with your chosen villager. Talk to them every day to earn friendship points. Give them gifts by checking their preferred items. Weekly gifts provide the most friendship points, while loved gifts offer more points than merely liked items.  Complete their personal quests as they become available, and participate in their favorite activities when applicable to maximize your friendship growth. This is quite an easy and pretty much straightforward quest, unlike Proof of Magic and others. Continue reading this guide to solve the quest in the easiest possible way.  Understanding the Ancient Battery Quest Jina has informed you that what you discovered was, in fact, an ancient Human battery! She’s requested you try it on the door behind the waterfall in Kilima. This Main Quest represents your first major temple exploration experience and introduces the broader mystery of ancient human civilisation. The quest becomes available after you send an item off to Jina and receive the Ancient Battery via your mailbox with specific instructions to travel to Phoenix Falls. Quest Starting Requirements How to receive the quest: What you’ll need: Pro tip: Always keep your watering can filled before heading to any temple – you never know when you’ll need it! How to Solve the Ancient Battery Quest in Palia Entering the Temple Using an Ancient Battery Jina will instruct you to place the Ancient Battery on the door located behind the waterfall. To achieve this, proceed to the Phoenix Falls area and cross the bridge, heading northward. To reach the temple door, travel to Phoenix Falls in the northern area of Kilima Valley, then cross the main bridge and head towards the waterfall area. Look for the large golden door positioned behind the waterfall, and use your quest marker if you have trouble finding the exact location. Approach the large brass door behind the waterfall, interact with the door to use the Ancient Battery, and watch the door mechanism activate as the battery powers the ancient technology. Once you enter the temple, you will find a large brass bowl positioned in the centre of the room, an ancient riddle plaque explaining the challenge, and small pools of water around the temple area for refilling. Solving the Ancient Battery Riddle The riddle asks you to “supply that which grows life” to the central bowl mechanism. The solution is quite simple; to “supply that which grows life,” you must equip your watering can and pour water into the basin until the meter fills, just like you would while watering your plants at home. The answer is basically, Water! This is indeed the solution to the Phoenix Falls Waterfall Shrine riddle in Palia. Now, players should fill up their watering can with water from the surrounding stairwell below. Use the watering can to fill the bowl in the middle of the room with water. Watch the filling meter progress until the bowl is completely full. Watering cans can be filled from the small pools of water nearby. If you arrive without water, don’t worry – you can refill it in any shallow water source within the temple area. Once the bowl is full, the riddle is solved. A short cut-scene activates, showing the temple’s response to your successful puzzle solution. The brass door will open, and Jina and Hekla will come rushing to see what happened inside. Talk to Jina about the mysterious chamber. Follow-Up Quests Completing the Ancient Battery quest unlocks additional temple-related storylines and exploration opportunities. If you somehow don’t have one, craft a Makeshift Watering Can using basic materials. Can I complete this quest without water? No, water is essential for solving the riddle. Most players complete the Ancient Battery quest in 10-15 minutes once they understand the water bowl mechanics. What happens if I can’t find the temple door? The Palia A Catalyzing Caper quest represents one of the most challenging temple adventures in the game, taking you through complex mazes, arrow puzzles, and sliding tile challenges. I’ve completed this quest multiple times and mastered every shortcut and solution to help you navigate this fiery temple successfully. Before tackling this temple adventure, you’ll want to familiarise yourself with the Plumehound Pilgrimage completion guide to maximise your success in these ancient ruins. Quest Prerequisites and Essential Preparation Starting Requirements Once you finish the Plumehound Pilgrimage Quest, Hassian and Sifuu will head over to the Temple of the Flames and unlock the door, automatically making A Catalyzing Caper available. Critical Equipment Needed Pro tip: Stock up on arrows before entering. Running out mid-quest means backtracking to craft more. How to Complete A Catalyzing Caper Quest in Palia Meeting Your Team Talk to Hassian inside the temple entrance. Although you’ve made it through the front door, there’s another locked door on the inside that requires your archery skills to open. Your companions: The First Arrow Puzzle Opening the first door requires shooting symbols on the torches positioned on either side of the entranceway. The correct order is indicated on the arches above you. To solve the door puzzle, you’ll need to look up at the arches above the locked door and identify the symbol sequence displayed there. Next, shoot the corresponding symbols on the torch bases in that exact order, then watch the door open once you’ve hit all symbols correctly. Accuracy tip: Take your time with each shot. Missed arrows waste ammunition and delay progress. Exploring the Massive Chamber You’ll enter a massive room showing clear evidence of what happens when Flow and magic go awry. This impressive chamber contains multiple treasure opportunities. For effective treasure hunting, head left first to find a chest with valuable loot, then continue left to spot another chest on a distant cliff. Glide over to collect the second chest, and don’t worry about falling in lava as you’ll simply respawn at the starting point. Find Hassian and Sifuu standing in the centre of this massive room. Talk to both of them – Sifuu will share some snacks with you, like any good mum on a field trip. Investigating the Mysterious Mural Head right and go through the door leading to the next section. You’ll find a small room containing a mural, a brazier, and mysterious mechanisms. Mural chamber steps: Conquering the Three-Part Maze The maze splits into three distinct sections, each with unique challenges and navigation rules. In the first maze section, follow the golden rule by sticking to the wall method, take every left turn consistently, and light your torch at the brazier near the end.  The second maze section requires you to climb the ladders to reach the upper level, light the brazier next to the mural before proceeding, and look back for a hidden path leading to another treasure chest. For the main route, make only right turns to find the exit and light your torch at the exit brazier.  In the third maze section, watch out for lava underneath the pathways. Don’t panic if you fall, as you’ll respawn at the section start, work methodically to the end, and light the final brazier to unlock the door back in the foyer. Maze exit: Glide back the way you came and speak with Hassian to return to the foyer. The Second Arrow Puzzle Back in the foyer, you’ll notice the blank murals are now filled with images from your maze exploration. These murals have associated symbols that give you the shooting order for the final door puzzle. Second puzzle solution: The order of the story provides the sequence of symbols you need to shoot on the torch puzzle. Shoot the targets underneath the torches in the correct order, and the door between the torches will open. Key insight: The mural story sequence directly translates to the symbol shooting order. The Final Chamber Challenge Head inside to discover the final chamber where you’ll see Tau on a platform in the distance. Somehow, this clever plumehound managed to bypass all the locked doors through sheer determination and good boy powers. Crossing to Tau: The Sliding Tile Puzzle You’ll discover Tau has found a Kitsune friend – apparently a good enough reason to brave a dangerous lava temple! Complete the final sliding tile puzzle to finish the quest. Tile puzzle solution (11 moves total): Puzzle tip: This tile puzzle is more challenging than the one in Echoes of the Unknown. Follow the sequence exactly for success. Rewards With the tile puzzle completed, you’ll have successfully conquered the Temple of the Flames and unlocked significant new content. Immediate unlocks: Achievement opportunities: Return Journey Options Hassian will offer you a quick exit from the Temple of the Flames. Echoes of the Unknown is a Main Quest given by Jina upon completion of the quest Like a Bird. This captivating storyline centres around mysterious temple ruins and ancient secrets that have remained hidden for centuries. The quest becomes available after you’ve helped Jina with her previous adventures, and it requires you to have a glider – something you’ll have obtained from completing the Like a Bird quest. By beating this quest, you will improve your relationship with Jina. This is quest is quiet different from various other quests such as Eye of the Storm. Pre-Quest Requirements and Preparation Essential Items You’ll Need: Skills You Should Master: How to Complete Echoes of the Unknown Quest The first thing you’ll have to do is speak to Jina. Although she told you what you need to do earlier, it won’t actually count unless you speak to her to start the quest. Step 1: Locate Jina at the Temple Head to the Temple of the Waves, which you’ll find at Phoenix Falls on the northern side of Kilima Valley. The Temple of the Waves is an ancient temple located at Phoenix Falls on the north side of Kilima Valley, containing an Ancient Library that is discovered by the Player and Jina. Navigation tip: Use your map markers to guide you – the temple is easily recognisable by its distinctive architecture and waterfall location. Step 2: Initial Conversation with Jina Talk to Jina in the mysterious temple. She’ll explain the situation regarding strange phenomena occurring within the temple ruins. The Main Quest Walkthrough Phase 1: Investigating the Glowing Carving Head to the marker just south of the previous ruins you were just in. Inside, you’ll see Jina and Hekla standing around near a glowing mural. Speak to Jina to learn that this glowing business is a new feature of these ruins. What to do: Journey to the Ancient Chamber where you previously solved the riddle and engage in conversation with Jina, positioned near the gap. Jina will elucidate the significance of the glowing carving within the Temple. Phase 2: Accessing the Temple’s Upper Levels Jina will ask you to use the Glider to fly over to the ruins that are inaccessible to her. Start exploring this area and look for a giant water hole. Navigation steps: Take the geyser to the upper floors. The temple features a unique geyser system that propels you upward through different levels. Phase 3: Solving the Temple Puzzle Enter the room past some rubble and find yourself face-to-face with what looks like a puzzle. Solve it. Puzzle mechanics: Solving strategy: This will solve the temple puzzle.  Phase 4: Post-Puzzle Events You hear a rumble! It might be best to report back to Jina. After successfully completing the puzzle, dramatic changes occur within the temple. What happens next: Treasure Collection and Rewards Collecting the Temple Treasures All players have to do is glide back over to the other side of the water, grab the chest on the rocks below where Jina is standing, if players have enough inventory slots for it, and then climb back up to Jina. Treasure hunting tips: Quest Completion Tell her all about what was found inside the ruins, and this will end the quest. Once you’ve gathered all necessary items and information, return to Jina for the final conversation. The Vault of the Waves Connection Something strange happened after you completed the puzzle in the water temple. Meet Jina in the ruins south of Hekla’s test to investigate. After completing Echoes of the Unknown, you’ll unlock the Vault of the Waves quest, which continues the storyline.
