These 5 Co-Op Games Are Dominating Steam Right Now

2025 on Steam is turning into a pretty solid year for co-op games. Lots of big names, some smaller teams, and a few surprises making waves. Split Fiction is still doing well. Hazelight’s follow-up to It Takes Two didn’t just sell, it blew up. With a Friend’s Pass that lets two people play for the price of one and plenty of buzz streaming-wise, it’s pulling in big numbers, almost 200K players online at the same time. It’s a story-driven platformer with some relationship drama, and it’s clearly hitting a chord. Then there’s Monster Hunter Wilds. Capcom’s latest went big quickly, passing a million players in no time. On day one, it even outpaced Elden Ring’s numbers and made it into the top five for concurrent players overall. Capcom really delivered on this one. But the real surprise is R.E.P.O. It’s rough around the edges and kind of intense. Launched in early access, it hit over 230K players quickly and got “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews faster than many big-budget titles. It’s chaotic and tough, but people keep coming back with friends. Indies are holding their own, too. Take PEAK, a clever co-op puzzle game that quietly made $17 million and sold over 3 million copies without much hype. And lots of PEAK players also own R.E.P.O., showing folks are picking up several co-op games to play with their friends. According to SteamDB, almost half of the top moneymakers on Steam are co-op games. And not just the big studios, some smaller or less obvious titles are climbing fast. At this point, playing solo on Steam feels kind of lonely. Co-op isn’t just popular, it’s what most people are going for these days.

Plants vs. Zombies Coming Back With Classic Chaos & New Features

plants vs zombies replanted

EA and PopCap look set to resurrect the classic tower defense game as Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, with a multi-platform launch on October 23, 2025. That release date comes courtesy of leaks from reliable insider Billbil‑Kun and Dealabs reporting. Platforms include Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The price? Around €19.99 (roughly $23 in the U.S.). Fans noticed Brazil’s Ministry of Justice had rated a title called Plants vs. Zombies earlier this year, signaling early development. That listing included versions for mobile, too, but the title was apparently renamed Replanted before any public announcement. New Modes, Co-Op, and Visual Upgrades Bring Fresh Life Leaks hint at updates beyond HD visuals. Players expect bonus levels, concept art galleries drawn from fifteen years of history, and new twists like local co‑op and PvP modes—features teased in early coverage of the official site and trailers. The gameplay looks very faithful to the original 2009 version, updated with modern polish: clearer graphics, smoother controls, and a tree of wisdom interface to flip visual options on or off. Preview descriptions mention mini-games like Wall‑Nut Bowling and two fresh modes: Cloudy Day limits sunlight, making strategy matter more; Rest In Peace tosses in a permadeath challenge. Preorders appear to have gone live with pricing already visible on EA’s storefront—$19.99 in the U.S. listing. That fits the €19.99 leak. Some threads are buzzing about whether that cost fits the content on offer, sparking comparisons with prior releases and current entry prices in marketplaces. Reddit and forums are lighting up with questions about post-launch updates or microtransactions. After Plants vs. Zombies 3’s poorly-received free‑to‑play model was shut down in late 2024, the upfront price here might reflect EA’s lesson learned—and some hope, no ad‑driven or pay-to-win elements sneak back in. We still haven’t seen the official announcement, but many expect it soon—possibly at Gamescom in August or via another Nintendo Direct episode. With leaks lining up and the launch looming, the hype feels real. If all these features land as described, Replanted may become the definitive version of that original garden war.

Pokemon TCG Pocket’s New Expansion Confirms the Revival of Legendary Region

pokemon tcg pocket wisdom of sea and sky

EA’s Pokémon TCG Pocket is heading to Johto. Its upcoming major expansion, Wisdom of Sea and Sky, also known as “The Way of Sky and Sea”, finally brings Gen 2 into the spotlight, complete with Lugia, Ho-Oh, and a whole wave of nostalgic Johto favorites. Fans finally got an official trailer on July 24, and leaks suggest the set drops July 30, 2025, at 6 AM UTC. The Revival of Johto This is the game’s fourth full expansion, dubbed set A4, and it’s stacked. We’re talking over 200 new cards, including Lugia EX, Ho‑Oh EX, Umbreon EX, Espeon EX, and even the iconic Red Gyarados. Also, die-hard fans feel seen: Johto starters Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, plus baby Pokémon Pichu and Cleffa all appear in full‑art glory. Supporter and Item cards are leveling up too, think Lyra, Silver, Rescue Scarf, and Elemental Switch, offering fresh deck-building options, especially for multi-energy strategies. Major Shift in Trading and How You’ll Get Cards This update isn’t just about new cards. TCG Pocket is shaking up how trades work: Trade Tokens are gone, replaced by Shinedust and a new wishlist feature letting players select up to 20 cards they want (and even highlight their top 3). The trade system will be temporarily paused from July 25 – 29 to accommodate the transition. Expect the system changes and the new wishlist feature to be live when the expansion launches. Here’s What Leaks Revealed A slick trailer leaked via the Italian Pokémon YouTube channel (thought to be an accident), and it confirmed most of what fans suspected: Lugia and Ho‑Oh headline the set, Umbreon EX and Espeon EX are in, and baby Pokémon cards make their debut. Game Rant even posted details on 14 cards revealed early, including Ho‑Oh EX’s energy-matching ability and Espeon EX’s healing effect. That’s enough to fuel speculation on new meta-defining decks already. Why This Expansion Matters Most expansions so far this year have arrived monthly, but A4 represents a major release after two smaller themed sets like Eevee Grove. It’s the long-awaited Johto-themed manicured expansion fans have been dreaming of. The trading system revamp also matters, a major quality-of-life upgrade, especially for long-time collectors dealing with restrictions or broken token mechanics.

Battlefield 6 Trailer Drops, Teasing Chaos And Massive Firepower – Everything Else You Need to Know!

shots from battlefield 6 trailer

EA just gave us our first real glimpse at Battlefield 6, and it’s loud, dramatic, and packed with destruction. The trailer kicks off with a fictional U.S. president addressing the nation, warning of a “monstrous unprovoked attack” by a shady private army called Pax Armata. Funded by breakaway NATO states, they’re apparently pushing the world into all-out war. And yeah, the footage wastes no time showing what that looks like. As the speech rolls, we see tanks crashing through downtown streets, bridges erupting into flame, and jets weaving between collapsing skyscrapers. One scene even looks like trench warfare breaking out in what might be the heart of Los Angeles. No Confirmed Date Yet, But There’s an Expected Date EA still hasn’t nailed down a release date, but leaks are pointing to October 10. That date came alongside another eyebrow-raising detail, a potential $80 price tag. It’s not confirmed, but the timing is interesting, especially since Xbox just walked back its own $80 holiday pricing plan after heavy backlash. An open beta might be on the way before launch, and EA’s already lined up the next big moment: a multiplayer reveal set for July 31 at 7:30 am BST. The Trailer Hints at Massive Warfare – Subways, Skies, and Everything Between Even without multiplayer details, the trailer already says plenty. Fighter jets soar overhead while miniguns rattle from choppers. Soldiers sprint through ruined cities, with close-quarter shootouts in subways and long-range sniping across collapsing bridges. This one’s clearly aiming for spectacle. And it’s not just flash. According to leaks, there’s a battle royale mode in the works, plus customizable class systems and highly destructible maps, all built to lure back fans and maybe compete with giants like Warzone or Fortnite. New Coalition of Devs and Massive Playtest Interest This game comes from a new super-team under the name Battlefield Studios, which bundles together DICE, Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect. EA pitched the project as the “most ambitious title in the series’ history” when they announced it back in February, and so far, they seem to mean it. Earlier this year, EA launched Battlefield Labs, a string of playtests meant to gather early feedback and avoid another 2042-style disaster. Over 1.3 million players signed up almost instantly. Despite the NDAs, leaks and footage started spilling online pretty quickly, including full livestreams from some testers. There’s a lot we still don’t know, like how far the single-player will go, or if all those rumored features will make the cut. But with the multiplayer showcase just days away, EA’s about to start answering those questions. And if they deliver what they’re teasing, Battlefield 6 might actually live up to the name this time.

Helldivers 2 Coming to Xbox – Crossplay Will Unite Players From All Platforms

It’s the first time that we are witnessing a major Sony-published game launching on Xbox. Helldivers 2 has gained massive popularity since its original release. And now it’s finally coming to Xbox Series X|S on 26 August, 2025.  It feels like a win for everyone because it will be coming with full cross-play between Xbox, PlayStation 5, and PC. This might look like a regular update, but it’s something big, it marks a historic moment. This first major game published by Sony is going to break barriers and make the future of gaming more about the experiences rather than console walls.  Full Crossplay & Two Game Editions Sony and Arrowhead Game Studios have made it official that Helldivers 2 will support cross-play right out of the gate. Now, it doesn’t matter if your friends are on the same platform or not, you can dive into the game together and conquer the world. Game director Mikael Eriksson, in his official Xbox Wire post, said: “We know gamers have been asking for this for some time, and we are so excited to bring more Helldivers into our game.” It shows the full excitement. They have fulfilled the gamers’ long-awaited wish. With this new update, the gamers who have been waiting to get crossplay can now finally experience it on release.  The game will be coming in two editions. The first one is the Standard Edition, which will cost $39.99. The other one is Super Citizen Edition, which will be priced at $59.99.  Some Features Won’t Be Coming to Helldivers 2, At Least for Now Initially, there won’t be Game Pass support and cross-progression. Players won’t be able to carry their progress from PlayStation or PC to Xbox. Moreover, the game will not be a part of the Game Pass library.  This is kinda disappointing for some, especially the cross-progression. Chances are that these features will be added in the future, so we can hope for the best.  There is a good response from the Helldivers community across Reddit and YouTube. It’s all about the teamwork when it comes to Helldivers, and with this launch, the squad will get just bigger. However, there is still a concern among players regarding the balance and matchmaking. Also, we still have to see whether the Xbox version will receive the timely updates.

Mario Kart World Faces Massive Backlash After Update, Online Racing Experience Ruined

Mario Kart World was being praised by millions of fans just a few weeks ago, and now it is being called a huge mess due to the recent update rollout.  Nintendo has made a huge change to online multiplayer races with its new update, and it seems that players aren’t really pleased. Now, you cannot easily choose the standard three-lap race, which has been a classic and is most loved by the fans.  The update takes players into new tracks where they find plenty of interconnecting roads. This is what is confusing players, and they say it is quite long, which is ultimately leading to less fun.  Fans Found a Way to Review Bomb – Rating Goes Down Players usually drop the negative reviews on Steam, but this time they had to look for a different platform since the Mario Kart World is a Nintendo Exclusive. There is no place on Steam where they can post anything about it, but this couldn’t stop the backlash. Now, the fans has taken over on Metacritic by starting a review bomb, the user score of Mario Kart World has dropped from 8.3 to 7.7 in just a few days and that is definitely big. We can see tons of negative reviews, and it truly looks like the players aren’t happy at all.  The message is clear, the new update has ruined the entire online gaming experience. We saw many reviews using the word “ruined” which clearly shows how upset these fans are.  Players are expressing their experience with the latest update, the fun, and such a lovely game has now been replaced by a frustrating mess that no one expected. Some are even asking Nintendo to bring back the old online mode. While others are suggesting a full rollback of this update.  Nintendo Stays Silent & This Isn’t Helping As of now, Nintendo hasn’t made any response to the whole scenario, which is why fans are even more disheartened. Nintendo has stayed quite on such things in the past, and this present situation is no less than that.  If Nintendo stays quiet for a long then they might see a big hit on their reputation from their fans. Because they are definitely not happy with the new online racing standards.

Microsoft’s New Xbox Strategy Starts with Windows and Ends with No Console

rog xbox ally

Microsoft surprised many of its fans with a peek at the future of Xbox. Instead of announcing the new Xbox console, they revealed two powerful Xbox Ally handhelds, ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. These devices are built with Asus with a design to bring Xbox gaming on the go.  These new handhelds are Windows-based, but they directly boot into the Xbox interface without even showing any signs of Windows. Users see a console-style dashboard, which makes the entire UI much easier to navigate. That way, they can access the games and apps like Discord conveniently.  An Xbox on PC Hardware Microsoft was not playing around, they were clear about their goals. During the reveal, they stated: “This is an Xbox.” It’s no longer a box under the TV. It has now emerged as an advanced handheld that can be any device, including handheld PCs.  Xbox President, Sarah Bond, said that users can now hold the power of the Xbox experience in their hands with these new handhelds. It’s a bold statement for the future vision of Xbox.  Growing the Xbox Platform on Third-Party Devices This is not just about the new gadgets, it’s now all about the software. These handhelds have allowed Xbox to transform into a platform that spreads across various devices.  With these handhelds, users will have full control to stream console games via Xbox Cloud. Moreover, PC games, including the Steam titles, can also be launched to enjoy a full gaming experience anywhere and anytime.  Gamers are doubting that these new ROG Xbox handhelds will give tough competition to Sony and Nintendo consoles based on the sales.  With these releases, Microsoft didn’t just tease a handheld, they hinted at a whole new console-less future of Xbox that will change the way people used to do gaming on big consoles.

Nintendo Switch 2 Breaks Sales Records in Just 4 Days

Nintendo Switch 2 just made a new record with its sales in 4 days. It has now become one of the fastest-selling consoles released by Nintendo. The company has made it official that they sold over 3.5 million units in just four days.  This happened between June 5 and June 8. The sales basically include all of the versions that have been sold around the world. Even the region-locked versions sold in Japan were counted in this record.  In comparison to the original Switch, there is a huge difference in sales. The OG made it to sell 2.7 million units in its first month back in 2017. And now with the Switch 2 broke the record already, Nintendo is aiming to sell 15 million Switch 2 units by March 2026. Why So Many People Bought It Mario Kart World bundle played a huge role in this record. This is one of the biggest reasons for a strong start, fans we excited to get the brand new Mario Kart game right out of the box, and it definitely helped in boosting sales.  Nintendo also mentioned that the hardware upgrade in Switch 2 also made a significant impact on the sales. The new hardware made the console even more popular, and the fans really wanted to try out the best performance.  The newly released Switch 2 is much more powerful than the original one. Players can enjoy 4K resolution games when the console is docked, and when played on handheld, it brings out that crisp 1080p resolution.  Strong Lineup of Games at Launch Nintendo has already killed it with some of the top-notch games at the launch. Some of the titles include: Mario Kart World, The Legend of Zelda: The Tears of the Kingdom, Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, and Resident Evil 4 Remake.  But that’s not all, more games are on the way too. In July, Nintendo will be releasing Donkey Kong Bananza and Super Mario Party Jamboree. Also, there will be an upgraded version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land in the coming months.  Additionally, the most awaited Pokemon Legends: Z-A is expected to be released in October. Nintendo is also planning to release one of its biggest titles, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The game’s early previews are absolutely stunning in 4K.

Pokemon GO Adds Brand New Community Feature, But Not Everyone Is Happy

pokemon go fest community campsites feature

Pokemon GO is introducing a great new feature for its fans called the Community Campsites. This is quite a special thing and definitely brings in the coolest vibe to the game.  These Community Camps are special spots that have extra PokeStops and Gyms. But what’s the catch? Well, they are designed to bring local players together. This new idea seems to be fun to some players, but there seems to be an unhappy gesture among some fans.  The feature is part of the Community Ambassador Program, which means there will only be certain players who can create these Campsites. You must apply and eventually get accepted as an Ambassador. There are perks for those who are accepted, you get stuff like free items and support from the game’s team. However, some of the players are saying that it’s hard to get approved, and they are still on the waiting list.  Where’s Pokemon GO Fest 2025 Happening Pokemon GO Fest is back for everyone around the globe, and this time it’s bringing in some great new stuff. Here are the places where this huge in-person event will take place:  Players from around the globe will come together to catch rare Pokemon and enjoy live events. And there is a bonus, the Legendary Giants are coming back to the raids. They will be a part of the Ancients Recovered event. Fans can catch this event from June 23 to June 27.  Campsite Feature Divides Fans There is a hot debate in Pokemon GO community regarding the new Campsite feature. Some trainers seem to be happy with it, they think it would help in making the game more social. While some aren’t really excited for it, they think the developers are trying to “force them to be extroverts.” And then there is a requirement to create Campsites. Only those players will be allowed to create Campsites who are accepted as Ambassadors. And it’s not that simple to become a Community Ambassador. Many of the players have tried their luck, and they are still waiting to hear back from the managing team. So, they feel left out of this feature.  Circle June 21 on your Calendars for the Next Community Day The next Community Day in Pokemon GO is happening on June 21. This day will exclusively feature the Dragon-type Pokemon Jangmo-o. This will be the right time to catch them, and you may get a chance to find a shiny one as well.  On the same day, the Community Campsites feature will also be rolling out so that players can meet other players and hang out in real life. This is going to be a big day!

Elden Ring: Nightreign Shows Off A New Powerful Executor Class

elden ring nightreign executor class

Elden Ring fans finally got a good look at the new Executor class in the upcoming Elden Ring: Nightreign. It truly looks awesome and extremely powerful. This new character has the guts to deal big damage while blocking attacks with the blade.  It looks fast, strong, and stylish. Fans are loving this new class, and they also seem to be upset about the co-op mode.  What We Know So Far About Executor Class Bandai Namco revealed the Executor class in a brand new trailer. The class uses a huge katana and moves around with quick and smooth attacks, it’s more like a samurai. We can also see in the trailer that Executor is blocking multiple hits using their sword. We can tell that this class is not only for attacking, but it can also save us from heavy incoming blows.  Moreover, there comes a point when the Executor transforms into a giant beast to fight off a boss. This is a big thing, the class shows off a monster mode that fully changes the gameplay, especially during the challenging battles.  When the game launches, there will be eight playable characters, and Executor will be one of them.  Fans Demanding 2-Player Co-Op Mode Fans are super excited for Elden Ring: Nightreign’s release, but some seem to be disappointed because the game only supports three players in co-op mode. They are asking for a two-player option instead.   In a recent interview, director Junya Ishizaki said that the developer team didn’t have any plans for two-player support initially, so they just skipped it. But now, as most of the fans are demanding it, the team will add this feature at some point through future updates.  At the launch, there won’t be a 2-player co-op mode, players will have to stay with the 3-player mode, but they will introduce the 2-player mode in the new updates.  Elden Ring: Nightreign is preparing for a huge takeoff on its launch. The new Executor class looks strong, aggressive, and full of fun. Plus, the beast transformation is really driving the fans crazy, it’s a totally fresh thing to see.  Even though there is no two-player option yet, the developers have just listened to the fans’ needs, and there will be this option in the near future.  There are more secrets, gear, and boss fights on the way. Fans of Elden Ring: Nightreign have a lot to look forward to on May 30 at its launch.
