The Palia Floating Relic quest represents one of the game’s most intriguing archaeological mysteries, challenging you to investigate a strange ancient artifact pulled from the depths of Kilima’s waters.
Players fish out a strange item from a lake in Kilima Village, but they don’t know what actually the actual meaning or purpose of this relic. So they are given a quest called Floating Relic to find out the story behind it. This Found Item Quest begins when you successfully fish up the mysterious Strange Relic, also known as the Floating Relic, from Kilima Village’s waters.
You will need to ask around about the artifact you found to see if anyone knows what it does. The quest solely focuses on organic investigation that takes you on a little journey. And you don’t really need any exceptional skills to finish the quest. Just some basic fishing skills are necessary.
This quest is quite different from the rest of the Found Item quests, such as A Device in the Hand. Because this quest doesn’t require finding tons of items rather you just need to collect information about just one strange relic that you obtained during fishing.

How to Complete the Floating Relic Quest in Palia
Fishing Strange Relic & Visiting Elouisa

If you don’t already have this quest, you can get it by fishing at the Fisherman’s Lagoon in Kilima Village. It may take a while to get this item out of the water, so be persistent.
Primary fishing location:
- Fisherman’s Lagoon in Kilima Village offers the best chances
- There are lakes found at Gillyfin Cove, located west of Kilima Village, and the areas stretching from Remembrance Beach to the area south of Whispering Banks
You can speak to Elouisa to kick off this quest. Elouisa enjoys hanging out in the library during the day, while Jina is almost always at Mirror Pond Ruins.

To start your investigation, you can visit Elouisa’s location by going to the library during daytime hours to find her researching, or check Jina’s location at Mirror Pond Ruins, where she conducts her archaeological work. Either expert work, as it doesn’t matter who you consult first, since both will provide valuable insights.
Eventually, you will be directed to Jina and Zeki. From here, you can either head to Zeki or Jina first. The order won’t matter. However, Zeki seems to be a good lead, as he knows well about the relic.
Consulting Einar

Once you have spoken to Zeki, you will receive a quest marker that leads to Einar. Dialogue with Einar represents the crucial final step in solving the mystery of the Strange Relic.
Finding Einar:
- Locate Einar in his usual spots around Kilima Village
- Approach him with the knowledge you’ve gathered from previous conversations
- Present the relic and share what you’ve learned from other experts
Einar’s extensive knowledge of village history and ancient human artifacts will provide the definitive explanation of what the Strange Relic actually is and its historical significance.
Rewards
After completing the quest successfully, you will receive the following rewards:
- Minor Rod Health Booster
- 5x Renown
